Henning Koppel was a renowned Danish sculptor who became known for his experimental approach to sculptural forms. As a visual artist, Koppel had a vast repertoire and worked with various materials within different categories - such as lighting. He was often inspired by nature, which gave his organic designs a distinctive and consistent expression. Today, Henning Koppel is regarded as one of the great Danish designers. He has left a significant mark on the Danish modern era with his ability to create unique pieces regardless of the material.

CORNEA has an outward-oriented light centred in the middle of the circular shade and is made from thick three-layered opal glass, which gives shape to a uniform and diffused light. The curved sides encapsulate the soft light while reducing the lighting on the sides. The white inside and slightly bent overhang of the shade take part in a downward reflection of the light, making for a functional and ambient lighting experience. When lit, the wall lamp lights itself up on the inside and becomes a distinctive piece of the room.
